Scope of Work

The study begins with an overview, motivation, and feasibility assessment of the project, along with its benefits, which include financial, environmental, resiliency, and utility aspects. Recommendations and risks, such as timeline, equipment availability, installer capacity, and utility approval, are also addressed.

2

Project Details

This section contains information gathered during site visits, such as roof access, roof condition, and equipment siting for PV inverters and energy storage systems (ESS). A site map is provided, along with details about the PV/ESS system, including roof layout, structural analysis, permitting, fire risk management, equipment recommendations, and preventative maintenance for ESS. The study also discusses interconnection factors, like bus capacity, utility meter, transformer capacity, grid capacity, and single-line diagrams.

3

Project Timeline

The study outlines the project's timeline, featuring critical tasks and phases, as well as a Gantt chart to visualize the schedule.

4

Energy Analysis

This section covers PV system and ESS details and an evaluation of energy aspects such as utility rates, current and new electric bills, and demand profiles. When appropriate, resiliency benefits are examined, including essential services, priority loads, historical outage data, and load calculations for winter and summer.

5

Financial Analysis

A summary and detailed budget are provided, along with financial modeling including available funding options, rebates and incentives,

6

Environmental Benefits

The study concludes with an assessment of the environmental benefits associated with the project.

A well-structured feasibility study is a critical aspect of any successful renewable energy project. By following the six key steps outlined by Cascadia Renewables you can ensure that your project is thoroughly assessed for feasibility, risks, and benefits. In doing so, you'll be better prepared to navigate the complexities of project implementation, from site evaluation to financial analysis, and ultimately contribute to a more sustainable and eco-friendly future. With a clear understanding of these steps, you can confidently move forward with your renewable energy endeavors, knowing that you are well-equipped to make informed decisions and overcome any potential challenges along the way.
